About Hank Center
Hank has significant experience with nonprofit endeavors and served with the Triad Health Project, Greensboro, NC, developing a meals-to-go program that was distributed through the “buddy system” to combat hunger and malnutrition in the early days of the AIDS crisis. He volunteered at GMHC, NYC, ACT-UP, NYC, March on Washington with the New York contingent, and later as a tutor in the Adult Literacy Program at the New York Public Library. More recently he has worked on Hilton Head Island, SC with the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s The Giving Marketplace and as a blogger for the Volunteer Connections website.
His workshops and keynote addresses have included topics such as Introduction to Grant Writing, Effective Grant Research, Creating a Gold Standard Assessment for Non-Profits, How to Create The Development Plan for Non-Profits.
Personal Development topics have included Harnessing the Power of Gratitude, Giving Back, How to Eat an Elephant, Letting Go, Living Sober, and How to Apply the Twelve Steps to Real Life.
His commitment to inclusivity and fostering a connection to people and their environment leads him to a deep abiding passion for family, friends, and community.

Hank writes for the award-winning Los Angeles based The Blunt Post and his column: Buzzkill: Journey in Recovery is published monthly.
His happiest childhood memories were spent with his family in the great outdoors visiting State and National Parks, camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, and car trips in the mountains. He continues to pursue those interests and considers bird watching a productive use of time.
